De Tuin der Lusten

I seriously think I would like to use this as the main splash image for this blog. I think it's a sublime piece of advertising art, and reminds me in some vague way of Hieronymus Bosch. I love it.

Profound thanks to Junk Thief for discovering this somewhere in the Mission District of San Francisco.

Wow, Kusala, I've been referenced twice in one week! I'm very flattered. Next time you're in SF, I'll have to give you the tour of the odder murals and "advertising art" of the Mission. It's a pleasant reminder that my corner of the city is not quite fully gentrified. There's a touch of Henry Darger in it too. By the way, the full slogan for the art is: "Comida para toda ocasion"

Mmm... "toda ocasion".... like, for example, a cannibalistic sacrificial feast? Bring on the cleaver and sizzling plancha!

I dunno...those cannibal pigs kind of creep me out...especially the smiling decapitated head.

I don't think you could square it with the whole "kusala-kamma" koncept.

One only wants a nice salsa verde, though.

I say do it - I love the image.

i don't want to eat anything that has first smirked at me.

that pig looks a little smirky. and kind of wanton.

that pig would have to wear a hood before i could chow down.
