Twelve Days

The Motherland awaits: December 16 redeye. Return ticket SBA-PHL has been purchased for an astounding price of under $390.

I'm excited about the prospect of heading to NYC for at least one day trip to reconnect with a college roommate who's now in Intellectual Property for the Favourite Brand of the Chavs. It should all be a really good time. New Jersey and Me: Perfect Together.

Wait...is that Huntington Valley, Pa., I see before me?

I believe that's Huntingdon.

Not to be confused with Hunterdon County, N.J.

As JMG might say: "Click to 'embiggen' the pretty vintage map."

Dang, if I were still living a train ride away from Manhattan, I'd insist on buying you a beverage! (I should take a number to do so, I imagine...)
Have a safe trip, sweetness.

I think "embiggen" is the best take away I've gained from JMG. Hope you see him there. Let him know that I've used that verb to apply to more than JPEGs.

LdB: I assume you know the word "embiggen" is originally from The Simpsons.

1895, actually. See below for hours of "unproductive" fun:

I love that there was a community called "Moscow" in the vicinity of Guerne/Sebastopol.

Wait... what's the company the chavs love? Marks & Spencer?

Also... thanks a lot for that link. Now I'll never get any work done. We looove that it appears that La Conchita and Seacliff once sandwiched a no-longer-extant community called Santa Gorda - Holy Fat Woman, Batman!

Hahaha. I hadn't noticed, but I believe that's "Punta Gorda". Holy Fatty would be a good side for a Mission, though.

Perhaps you're right. I rushed to Wikipedia to look up La Conchita (of course I did), and it said that the point there past the Rincon was called Punta Gorda. And there is that street on the east side. Ah, dear old 93103, where the Quarantine means the Indians are Dead and you Get Out If You Can.
