Pansy Tuesday

I wake up grudgingly, roll over, peer through the blinds, see the splashes of yellow, and it makes getting out of bed a little bit easier even on a gray, darkish, overcast Tuesday morning.

About gray, darkish, overcast mornings: Summer on the Central Coast has arrived.

And that looks just like the view in the Mission District -- reputedly "the sunniest part of San Francisco." And i have the same pansies growing under my sun-denying junipers.

Pansies make summer? It must be summer all year 'round in the city by the bay. I mean Oakland of course.

Nope, it's the gray, overcast, darkish mornings that make it Summer. California Dreamin', baby!!

we've all got our weather complaints :-) mine is the straight overhead blazing sun that comes with a hot wind mid-summer. it's as if the gates of hell have opened wide and satan's in the door spotlighting the damned. i live in sunglasses and crankiness and i pray for darkish, overcast mornings.
